Alien Invaders: Teaching and Learning about Exotic Species was created through a grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to aquatic educators in several states.  Distance learning components are produced by the Ohio Sea Grant Education Program in the School of Environment and Natural Resources at The Ohio State University.

The goal of this short course is to provide a forum where educators can find out about the exotic species currently impacting the United States and its ecosystems.

Alien Invaders has been designed to meet specific science and professional development standards for teachers as defined by the National Science Education Standards.  The Professional Development standards that this course meets can be found here. For the students to be taught using the information, the National Science Education [Content] Standards are here.
